Herbicides Labeled on Faba Bean

Interest in Faba production has increased, which has resulted in more questions about registered herbicides for weed control. The following list has been compiled by Dr Brian Jenks, Weed Scientist, Northcentral R&E Center, Minot.

Below are herbicides that are labeled for use in Faba bean:

Soil-applied:

Dual Magnum

Prowl H2O

Sonalan, Treflan

Spartan Charge, Spartan Elite

Post-applied:

Assure II

Select

Varisto

Desiccant:

Gramoxone

Even though Varisto is labeled, Basagran is not labeled but may be registered in time for the 2018 use season. Raptor is not labeled because of excessive injury it may cause to Faba bean.
