Southwest ND (06/01/17)

.Information from the Southwest region of North Dakota.

Winds over the past week have delayed spraying fields. Many reports on insect issues across the region. Cutworm damage has been observed across the region. We have also seen damage that could be from pea leaf weevil, our IPM scout Marc has been scouting fields in search of the culprit. Before spraying for insects, be sure to keep the economic injury level and economic threshold in mind. Stripe rust was recently found in winter wheat in Dunn County. Be sure to scout fields for any possible insect damage or disease issues.
