Use Your Smart Phone or Tablet for Potato Diagnostics

To assist in diagnosing potato problems, I have made a form available on the NDSU / U of M Potato Extension Service webpage. The way this works is when you notice a problem, simply take your smart phone or tablet and go to z.umn.edu/d. If you don’t remember this then you can also find the form on the Potato Extension webpage www.ag.ndsu.edu/potatoextension on the left sidebar and click the Potato Diagnostics link. Once you access the Potato Diagnostics form, fill in the information so I can contact you and have some information on the problem. Then click “chose file” and if on your smart phone or tablet you can either attach a saved picture or take a picture at that moment. You can upload up to five pictures. The more pictures, the better for diagnostics. After I look at the issue, you will have one of three responses: 1) a diagnosis of what the problem is, 2) a request to have a field visit to assess the issue in person, or 3) a request to ship a sample to the NDSU Plant Diagnostic laboratory. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.
