Pea Disease Diagnostic Series Now Available

A pocket-size 16-card diagnostic guide for pea diseases is now available on the NDSU website (Fig. 1). The Pea Disease Diagnostic Series is free to download as a pdf or to purchase at the NDSU Extension Service. The printed copy is produced on synthetic material that is resistant to tearing, creasing, water and glare. The cards are bound by a single removable ring in the upper left hand corner. The cost for each set is $15.

Each card highlights one pea disease, with diagnostic photos on the front of the card (Fig. 2) and critical information on the back (Fig. 3). The cards include five root rots and wilts, six spot and lesion pathogens and five different viruses (Fig. 4).

The Pea Disease Diagnostic Series was created by the Pulse Crop Disease Working Group, a collaborative effort of scientists from the pulse growing regions of the United States and Canada. Fourteen scientists contributed to the creation of the Pea Disease Diagnostic Series and funding for the effort was provided by the North Central IPM Center.
