NDSU Small Grain Disease Forecasting Site

The disease forecasting tool is now available for the 2017 growing season (https://www.ag.ndsu.edu/cropdisease/). The scout-based tool can be used to assess risk for the development of tan spot, septoria, leaf rust and Fusarium head blight (Figure 1). As always, the first step in using the leaf disease model is the identification of a fungal leaf disease in a field. Later in the growing season, the model can be used to estimate Fusarium head blight (scab) risk. Commentary on disease risk will be provided on the forecasting model homepage, in the Crop and Pest report, and Twitter @NDSUcerealpath (Figure 2).
