Fusarium Head Blight (Scab) Update

According to both scab risk forecasting models (Figures 1 and 2), the northeast corner of the state currently has a moderate risk of scab developing in susceptible varieties. The National FHB model projects an elevated scab risk for larger areas in northeast ND and pockets in southeast and northwest ND. The scab models can change quickly especially if high humidity or additional moisture events occur prior to and at the flowering stages of wheat or heading stage of barley.
