Central Grasslands Research Extension Center (CGREC)
The CGREC is located in the Missouri Coteau Region of North Dakota and serves 18 counties in an area that is bounded by the Missouri River on the west and the James River on the east. This area served by the CGREC contains five million acres of rangeland, about 44 percent of the state's rangeland where 42 percent of the state's livestock is raised on 40 percent of the state's farms.
The CGREC is located between two counties that rank in the top 10 counties in the state for the production of livestock and forages.
