The Division of Food and Lodging is responsible for protecting public health through licensing and inspection of: Assisted living facilities, bakeries, bars, bed and breakfast facilities, campgrounds / trailer parks, lodging facilities, meat markets, mobile home parks, restaurants, retail food stores, salvage food establishments, schools, small food manufacturers / processors, tanning facilities, tattoo & body art facilities. Inspection procedures ensure that these licensed establishments meet both sanitation and certain life/fire safety standards before opening their business establishment(s) to the public.   Information relating to the above can be found at: http://www.ndhealth.gov/FoodLodging

The Division of Food and Lodging requires that properly prepared plans and specifications be submitted whenever an establishment is constructed or extensively remodeled. The plans and specifications must indicate the proposed layout, arrangement, mechanical plans, and construction materials of all work areas, and the types and models of proposed fixes equipment and facilities. The department shall review and approve the plans and specifications if they meet the minimum requirements of this chapter. No establishment may be constructed, extensively remodeled, or converted except in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the Department.

Please note that no one will receive an application for license until plans are received, reviewed and approved.
