Consumer Decision


Consumer Decision Making is an educational opportunity for 4-H members to learn decision making skills.

  • Come and Go Judging
  • Pre-Registration not required

When: Thursday, June 10, 2021

Where: Cass County Extension Office, Cass County Annex, Bison Room, 1010 2nd Ave S, Fargo, ND

Time: 11:00 am to 7:00 pm (Must arrive by 6:00 pm)

Who: Beginner Division (age 8 to 9)
          Junior Division (age 10 to 13)
          Senior Division (age 14 to 18)


2021 Judging Topics 

Beginner - Breads, Pets, T-Shirts


Junior & Senior - Boots, Portable Speakers, Dairy Snacks


4-H Dress Code Required

All 4-H participants/exhibitors must wear a solid white, yellow, gray or green shirt/blouse with a 4-H Emblem prominently displayed and securely fastened on the front. It is recommended that 4-H members wear dark jeans, slacks, shorts or skirts.


Age Divisions

  • Beginners - Ages 8 & 9 before September 1 of the current 4-H year (or may choose to participate in the junior division)
  • Junior - Ages 10 - 13 (age 10 before September 1 and up to age 13 as of December 31 of the current 4-H year)
  • Senior - 14 - 18 (as of December 31 of the current 4-H year)
  • State Contest - Thirteen year old contestants who turn 14 before January 1 are eligible to compete in the national contest, if a member of the first place team. Thirteen year old contestants who turn 14 on/after January 1 are not eligible for national contest, and would lose eligibility for future state contests if a member (top three scores) of the first place team.



  • Four winners named in each division.
  • Top score recognized in each judging class.
  • Top four Junior & Senior Winners will be eligible to participate as a team at the State Contest in Minot on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
