Director: Dr. Saleem Shaik

Dr. Saleem Shaik is an Associate Professor in Agribusiness and Applied Economics at North Dakota State University. He received his Ph.D in Agricultural Economics from University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Dr. Shaik has been teaching applied risk analysis at the undergraduate level and agriculture finance and analytical methods at the graduate level.

Current research at NDSU revolves around applied policy analyses; and technology assessment, efficiency/productivity using quantitative analytical tools including econometrics, statistics and mathematical programming.  Saleem’s research is in the area of agriculture a) production b) finance and c) institutional (farm program and crop insurance) issues.He has published numerous journal articles and authored several book chapters. He  received the J.B. Hassler Outstanding Researcher Award in 1999 and served as chair of the selected paper process for the annual South American Agricultural Economics Association (AAEA) and the annual American Agricultural Economic Association (AAEA) meetings. Shaik also served as a member of the executive council for WAEA in 2010 and 2012.
