Kelsey Deckert

4-H and Youth Development Agent

Kelsey grew up on a ranch south of Baldwin. She was a highly active FFA member, serving both as the secretary and reporter for the Bismarck FFA Chapter. She participated in many CDE's during her time in the chapter. Kelsey graduated from NDSU with a major in Agriculture Education and a minor in Extension Education.

Kelsey has been both an intern and program assistant with Burleigh County Extension working with youth and adults in different county programs. Some of the programs she has been involved in is Junior Master Gardener, Junior Master Horsemanship, 4-H After-school, and fielding horticulture questions from the public.

Prior to joining the Burleigh County Extension as the 4-H Youth Development Agent, Kelsey established the first Agriculture Education Program along with FFA Chapter in Wing, ND. She taught many different classes including Livestock Production, Ag. Mech. Tech, Exploring Agriculture, Horticulture, Introduction to Agriculture, Foundations of Agriculture, Small Animal Care, and Welding.

Kelsey and her husband live out of town and have some cows, horses, dogs, and cats. They just welcomed a baby girl at the end of April! Kelsey loves spending time with her family. Her passions include riding and training horses, rodeos, hunting, and ranching. If you ask her about horses, she will tell you, "There is never an hour wasted in a saddle."
