Alice Westby

Alice was raised on a farm near Bowdon, ND, located in Wells County.  She was an active 4-H member for 9 years, participating in all aspects of the program. State level awards included Baking demonstration winner, Fashion Revue Court of Honor, Consumer Choices State Team, and participating at the National 4-H Congress in Chicago.  Alice attended NDSU and graduated with a degree in Home Economics Education with minors in food & nutrition as well as Home Management & Family Economics.  She taught Family and Consumer Science for many years at Velva Public School, Velva, ND, and after obtaining her Spanish Education degree through Valley City State University, taught Spanish at Velva High School as well. 

She and her husband, John, have two children living in the Bismarck area and enjoy spending family time with them as well as the four grandchildren. 

Alice enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, camping, gardening, Canadian fishing trips; or indoor activities such as baking, sewing and reading.  She began employment as Family and Community Wellness Extension Agent on March 1st and is getting better acquainted with the Burleigh County Community.
