Animal Lease/Borrow Program

Burleigh County 4-H is now offering an Animal Lease/Borrow Program for youth interested in showing animals at the Burleigh County 4-H Achievement Days.  This program is open to all enrolled Burleigh County 4-H youth.

The Animal Lease/Borrow Program is a program for youth ages 8-18 who do not have the opportunity to own animals or may live in town.  This program allows youth to work with local producers in an agreement of leasing/borrowing one of the following animals: rabbit, goat, sheep, swine, dairy, or beef animal in order to show that animal at the Burleigh County 4-H Achievement Days.

Youth and animal owners will work together with an agreement that will allow youth to develop the life skills of responsibility, accountability, stewardship, husbandry, and leadership.

To learn more about the new 4-H Animal Lease Program contact Burleigh County Extension. Youth will work with the 4-H Youth Development Agent to get enrolled and then will get paired with a producer of the animal they desire to show.
