ND Pesticide Program

Learn about becoming a certified pesticide applicator both commercial and private as well as use this site as a resource tool for information about pesticides.

Private General

County Extension Offices across North Dakota are responsible for private applicator certifications.

Fee:  $30.00 for new applicators or recertification
        (payable by checks made out to NDSU Extension Pesticide.  NO CASH)
Please bring your ID with you.
License is good for 3 years
Most County Extension offices offer training courses in February/March

You will only be required to take a monitored exam when you first come into the program, if you add a category, or if you let your certification expire. 

To maintain your certification, certificate holders will need to participate every three years in recertification training. 
If you are unable to attend the scheduled meeting, or your certificate has expired, you will need to take a monitored exam.
