 Cover Crops Wrap Up

            The last few weeks I’ve written about cover crop species and some of the good and bad points of each. Here are a few more observations and comments.

            Producer experience and research show that long term soil health is improved by keeping something growing whenever possible. In southern states, that may mean year around. Here it means whenever the ground is not frozen. Healthy soils are not bare mineral material but a mix of minerals, soils, and living organisms.
