Building
Connections is a program designed to connect resources, support and
provide educational opportunities to families located in remote
areas of North Dakota.
Two main sites
are able to support families through different educational tools.
Building Connections Sites
Purpose: |
To strengthen families as well as
increase positive youth development. |

Collaboration was formed to provide this
program on Standing Rock Reservation. This collaboration
is between NDSU Extension Service, ND state agencies,
Elders, North Dakota State University staff, community
members, specialists, faculty, staff members and
representatives from Sitting Bull College. |

Funding: |
Through an annual Congressional
appropriation for the National Children, Youth and
Families at Risk (CYFAR) Program, the Cooperative State
Research, Education, and Extension Service, under the
U.S. Department of Agriculture, allocates funding to
Land-Grant University Extension Services for
community-based programs. |
