NDSU PLANT DIAGNOSTIC LAB UPDATE

For May 26 through June 2, 2010, the Plant Diagnostic Lab processed 16 samples. Seven of these were part of the wheat virus survey effort, sponsored by the Great Plains Diagnostic Network. Wheat streak mosaic virus was detected in three of the six winter wheat samples, and none of the viruses were detected in the single spring wheat sample. Barley Yellow Dwarf Virus, Cereal Yellow Dwarf Virus, High Plains Virus, and Triticum Mosaic Virus were not detected in any wheat sample processed for the past week.
