This is the final scheduled issue of the North Dakota Crop and Pest Report for 2003. The NDSU staff who prepare the weekly reports hope that they have been useful and timely. As always, we welcome any comments you may have that would improve the reports for your use in the future. Comments may be submitted to Phillip Glogoza, or any of the contributing authors, at the postal or e-mail addresses listed. We plan to mail a general index of this past years articles. We will likely include some end of the year comments, as well. In September, you will be receiving one more issue. We hope this summary helps you in locating past articles for future reference.
SOYBEAN FIELD TOUR AT CARRINGTON ON SEPTEMBER 11
North Dakota State University, North Dakota Soybean Council, and North Dakota Soybean Growers Association will host a soybean research field tour on Thursday, September 11, at the NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center. Soybean growers, industry representatives, crop consultants and other interested persons are invited to attend the event for updates on soybean production research and recommendations. The tour begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends with a sponsored meal.
Tour participants will be able to view research trials and hear discussion by NDSU agronomists and crop specialists on soybean varieties, seed inoculation and plant nutrition, stand establishment, rolling soybean ground, aphid management, and disease management.
