ROUGHAGE TRIALS - 1953
The roughage trial, begun at the Dickinson Experiment Station in 1951, is designed to
compare the relative values of several crops when grown for roughage under dryland
conditions.

This year sorghum and sudan grass made their best growth and showing since the trial was begun, but it seems that a year that is good for sorghum and sudan grass is also a good corn year. Corn remains the top silage crop for this area both in quantity production and quality of feed.
