PERSONAL ACTIVITIES RELATIVE TO WORK AT THE DICKINSON EXPERIMENT STATION

1. CORRESPONDENCE

Twenty-three (23) letters have been written in response to inquiries addressed to the Dickinson Experiment Station or in the conduct of matters relating to Dickinson Station affairs.

2. NEWS ARTICLES AND RADIO PROGRAMS

Twelve news articles on grass and legume investigations at the Dickinson Experiment Station have been prepared and released since the last report. These articles have the same titles as the radio programs listed below.

Radio programs participated in over station KDIX, Dickinson, are as follows:

November 20, 1952 Native grass needs spring moisture.
December 18, 1952 Heavy grazing increases sagebrush.
January 15, 1953 Grass hays more leafy in dry years.
February 12, 1953 Increase grazing capacity with crested wheatgrass.
March 5, 1953 Use alfalfa with crested wheatgrass for pasture.
April 9, 1953 Corn ground provides good seedbed for grasses.
June 4, 1953 Tame grasses - high yielders this year.
July 2, 1953 Grass still benefits from 1951 fertilizer treatment.
July 30, 1953 Alfalfa varieties produce high yields at first cutting.
August 27, 1953 Fertilizer most effective in grass renovation trials.
September 24, 1953 Native grass production outstanding this year.
October 15, 1953 New seedings for pasture trials at the Dickinson Station.
