Agronomy Assistants - Up to 4 Positions|
Location: Dickinson Research Extension Center, Dickinson, ND
Purpose: To provide assistance in crop experiments to include experiment layout, treatment maintenance, data collection and data management.
Duties and Responsibilities: Successful applicants must be capable of assisting research staff in conducting crop and integrated crop/livestock experiments during the 2003 growing season. These individuals will assist in all facets of agronomy field research, including (but not limited to) experimental layout, treatment implementation and maintenance, data collection and processing, analyses and interpretation of data, and presentation of research results. Some indoor tasks are required together with tasks conducted outdoors in fields dedicated to crop research in or within a few miles of Dickinson.
Competencies and Experience Desired: Individuals interested in these positions should be recent high school graduates who will be entering college or university in the fall, or currently enrolled college or university students. Formal and/or practical training or work experience in the biological or plant sciences would be helpful in meeting the responsibilities of these positions but is not required. Similarly, a farm background would be helpful for individuals interested in these positions but is not required.
Salary: $7.40/hr minimum or compensation commensurate with qualifications. Employment will begin mid May and end mid August with the possibility of employment extending into the school year.
