Dormant seeding alfalfa into standing wheat stubble on November 29, 2001 in DREC field N4. Air-temperature at the time of seeding was 5oF and soil temperature at the 4 inch depth was about 31oF. Seeding depth is 3/4 inch.

The dormant-seeded study, Improving Forage-legume Stand Establishment with New Seeding Methods, is funded by the SBARE Hay Subcommittee.
