Education and Achievements

The Agronomy Seed Farm (ASF) educates and promotes research activities by conducting tours, field days, and demonstrations; and holding educational activities for students, researchers and the agricultural industry.

Educational efforts consist of relaying information about plant varieties to the public through publications, annual field days, a soybean tour, county tours, seed trade tours, and other events.

The ASF contributes to the evaluation and development of new crop varieties by providing data obtained under eastern North Dakota growing conditions.

The ASF produced 79,899 bushels of foundation seed in the past two years. With a normal yield of 35 bushels per acre, that's enough seed to produce 1.8 million bushels of registered seed.
