Aging Events and News in ND!

I am pleased to announce there are two Powerful Tools for Caregivers workshops scheduled this fall in Fargo and Casselton.  Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a six-week self-care education program for family caregivers that provides participants with tools and strategies to better handle the unique caregiver challenges. Topics will include self-care behaviors, management of emotions, self-efficacy, and use of community resources. There is a minimal fee to cover the cost of the participant resource guide.  Please see the “Events” section this website for details on both of these workshops.  Additional workshops will be listed here as plans are finalized.

Also, there are two new links added under “Additional Resources” that I would like to share with you.  First, the North Dakota Aging & Disability Resource – LINK connects older adults and people with disabilities to care options that can help them live as independently as possible and maintain their quality of life.  Check out this website for ND specific resources, services and support:

The last resource is an Adopt-A-Grandparent Toolkit developed by the ND Partners in Nursing Gerontology Consortium Project.  The Adopt A Grandparent toolkit bridges the gap between generations by providing opportunities for older adults to learn about current trends and students an opportunity to learn about past trends.  Ultimately, this promotes a sense of well-being and satisfaction for older adults, as well as a sense of confidence in the younger generation.  This ready-to-go toolkit is available at
