Paul E.R. Abrahamson Transportation Scholarship, Awarded by the Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute

The Paul E.R. Abrahamson Transportation Scholarship recognizes outstanding students at NDSU with an interest in the transportation and logistics of agricultural products. Funding for two $1,500 scholarships is provided by the Mountain-Plains Consortium through the University Transportation Centers program of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Paul Abrahamson was a champion for the agricultural community of North Dakota. Paul devoted his life’s work to promoting North Dakota’s agricultural products, in particular wheat and durum. Paul served as the first administrator of the North Dakota Wheat Commission beginning in 1959 until his passing on July 21, 1972.

-          Jacob Chisholm, 2015 Recipient

Jacob Chisholm is a senior in agricultural economics from Gary, MN. He plans to pursue a Master’s degree in agribusiness and applied economics at NDSU and then return to the family farm and work for American Crystal Sugar.

-          Molly Collette, 2015 Recipient

Molly Collette is a senior in agribusiness from Grafton, ND. She plans to continue the fourth generation family farm in partnership with her brothers. Her interests lie in overseeing the business accounting and personnel aspects of the operation.
