Frayne Olson submits grant to USDA-NIFA

Dr. Frayne Olson, Assistant Professor and Crop Economicst in Agribusiness and Applied Economics Department, has submitted a grant proposal in the amount of $1,002,998 to USDA-NIFA. The title of this proposal is: “2013 NDSU Farm Benchmarking Collaboration”  This grant proposal is a 12 state collaboration of farm management associations and universities with the primary goal to collect uniform farm level financial data to enhance the national farm benchmarking database.  This database allows farmers and ranchers to benchmark their operations against peers from across the United States. 

The data collected will also allow  NDSU researchers to develop and estimate farm efficiency benchmarks and evaluate the impact of alternative crop marketing strategies on farm level financial liquidity.
