Frayne Olson submits grant to USDA-NIFA

Olson, Frayne

Dr. Frayne Olson, Assistant Professor/Crop Economics in Agribusiness and Applied Economics Department, has submitted a grant proposal in the amount of $1,049,418 to USDA – NIFA.  The title of this grant is “National Farm Business Management Benchmarking Collaboration”.

This project is a collaboration among 15 states and 17 organizations to support and enhance farm business benchmarking opportunities in United States agriculture. The organizations participating in this project work with approximately 6,000 farms and ranches that produce a diverse set of crop and livestock enterprises under a variety of production systems. The organizations include both Farm Management Associations and Land Grant Universities.

This project will facilitate face-to-face and electronic networking and cooperation opportunities between the farm management educators affiliated with the participating organizations. These networking opportunities will allow the educators to share questions and concerns, enhance their skills through training programs, and improve the depth and consistency of the farm level data collected and analyzed by the project partners.
