Dr. Saleem Shaik presents at Advances in Econometrics (AIE) Conference

Dr. Saleem Shaik, Assistant Professor in Agribusiness and Applied Economics Department, presented at the 13th Annual Advances in Econometrics (AIE) Conference, February 9-10, 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA. This presentation will lead to a book chapter in Advances in Econometrics: Structural Microeconometrics, Volume 32.  This is an invite only conference that brings in national and internationally recognized statisticians and econometricians to the conference.  Dr. Shaik’s paper presentation was the second time in five years he has been invited to this conference.  The title of the paper is “Asymmetric Information with Optional Units in Crop Insurance".


Advances in Econometrics is a series of research annuals first published in 1982 by JAI Press. The founding co-editors of the series were Robert L. Basmann of Texas A&M University and George F. Rhodes, Jr. of Colorado State University.  Beginning in 1986 Thomas B. Fomby of Southern Methodist University became Senior Co-editor with Rhodes producing volumes 6 - 10. In 1995, beginning with volume 11, R. Carter Hill of Louisiana State University joined Fomby as Senior Co-editor. In 2009, Ivan Jeliazkov of the University of California at Irvine joined Fomby and Hill as a Senior Co-editor.
