Dr. Nancy Hodur has submitted a grant in the amount of $150,100 to Michigan State University, Department of Energy/United States Department of Agriculture Biomass Research and Development Initiative. The project title is: Regional Economic Impact of Sustainable Production of Cellulosic Bioproducts: An Innovative Regional Approach.

Study objectives will be to identify and quantify the potential local and regional economic, fiscal and farm level impacts associated with RBPDS using a case study approach.  A case study approach will illustrate the range of potential impacts as a result of variability in regional economies associated with potential markets for CRBCs as feedstock for the production of biofuels such as ethanol and drop-in hydrocarbon fuels and as animal feed.
