Dr. Juan Murguia submits grant proposal to Michigan State University

Dr. Juan Murguia, Assistant Professor in Agribusiness and Applied Economics and Co-PI Dwight Aakre, Farm Management Specialist in Extension at North Dakota State University,  has submitted a grant proposal to Michigan State University in the amount of $14,675.

The title of this propsal is: “2014 Farm Bill effects on crop selection in the upper Midwest”.

This study proposes the use of experimental economics to understand whether the changes n the farm bill will impact farmers planting decisions in the upper Midwest, without the need to wait for years to see its effects.  This study will contribute to a better understanding of the effect of the new farm bill on farmers’ decisions, benefiting teaching, research and extension programs in the upper Midwest.
