Cheryl Wachenheim receives grant

Cheryl Wachenheim

Dr. Cheryl Wachenheim, Professor in Agribusiness and Applied Economics Department, North Dakota State University and William Lesch, Department of Marketing,University of North Dakota, received a first-phase grant for $30,000 from Delta Waterfowl, a national wildlife group headquartered in Bismarck, ND. The title of the grant isProducer Preferences for USDA Programs and Producer Conservation Practices. 

Producers throughout the Prairie Pothole Region (Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota) will be interviewed regarding previous and current participation in conservation programs and practices . Specific emphasis will be on how producers manage their farms and ranches in ways that may impact waterfowl nesting habitat and waterfowlproduction.  An additional phase will address their preferences for USDA conservation programs and incentives.
