Automate your office’s staff directory

NDSU Extension maintains a staff database in the Ag Info Center called “People Database." Some information in the database populates what we and the public sees as the Extension Staff Directory. Instead of making your own staff directory on your office website, automatically draw your information out of the People Database, and you’ll never have to update it again.

Here's how:

1.    Create a Page and name it “Directory” or "Contact Us"
2.    Fill in the Title and Summary if desired
3.    In the Body Text:
              a. Enter some text, e.g. “Loading …” or “Office Directory” (This text may be visible for a short period of time                   while the directory information is being retrieved.)
              b. Highlight the text, then click the Insert a link icon
              c. Select External link, and for the URL enter “http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/dir/wide/XX” (The XX at the end of the URL                         should be replaced with the ID # of the county, department, etc. See the table below.)
              d. Click the HTML icon to edit the raw HTML then change the class parameter from “external-link” to “autoDirectory”
              e. Save the Page
