Write the Right Word: Couldn't Care Less

How many times have you heard people say “I could care less!” to express their disinterest?

What they really meant was just the opposite. In other words, they should have said,” I COULDN’T care less!”

The reason is that “I couldn’t care less” means I care so little already that I could not possibly care any less.

“I could care less” means exactly that: I have not reached my capacity for indifference, and I could, indeed, be more unconcerned.
