Simple Tricks to Avoid the Halloween Candy Binge

Halloween is right around the corner and undoubtably you've seen all the candy everywhere.

- Size matters. Fun size still packs a punch. The average fun size candy bar has 70 calories and 10 grams (2 ½ teaspoons) of sugar.
- Everything in moderation. A sweet treat every now and then is good. However overindulging or binging on sugar-rich candy could lead to health consequences in the future. 
- Out of sight. Don’t keep sweets out on the counter or on your desk. If it’s within sight you’re more like to want to have it.  
- Savor it. Choose a piece of candy you truly enjoy and savor the flavor. Trying to avoid sweets can lead to overeating later on. Make it worth your while. 
- Freeze it. Piles of candy can be extremely tempting. Portion out your stash and freeze some of it. Candy bars freeze surprisingly well.
