Software Center
Software Center is a program used by Ag Comm Computer Services (ACCS) to deploy software and updates to every on-campus computer they support. When you purchase certain software through NDSU, it will become available in Software Center as soon as ACCS receives a work ticket from NDSU Software Licensing.
Where do I find it?
To open Software Center, click on your START button and navigate to Microsoft Endpoint Manager -> Software Center
The main screen will then load and you should see something like this:
Under the Available Software tab, you can see what software is available; this will vary from computer to computer depending on what you are licensed for (what software you've purchased from NDSU).
To install programs using Software Center:
- Open Software Center as described above.
- Click on the Available Software tab at the top of the window
- Locate the program(s) you want to install and check their corresponding box(es) on the left
- Click the blue Install button in the lower right corner to begin
- The software will begin to download to your computer and automatically install itself. Please be aware that larger programs such as SAS can take up to 45 minutes to download the installer before the actual installation begins so plan accordingly.
What software can be installed through Software Center?
- Adobe Acrobat DC Professional
- Adobe Photoshop Elements 2019
- Adobe Premiere Elements 2019
- JMP Pro 14
- Mathematica 12
- Office 2019 Professional Plus
- SAS 9.4 M6 & renewals
- SPSS 26
- ArcGIS 10.7
- ArcGIS Pro
What about software not listed above? How will that be installed?
Other NDSU licensed, Windows-based, software will continue to be installed by an IT technician at this time.
Is there anything else I should be aware of?
Yes, if you currently run SAS or SPSS and are ordering a renewal, please make sure that is clear. You will be assigned exactly what you request through NDSU Software Licensing. For example, if all you need is a renewal but request a full installation, you will receive the full installer. The problem with this is that the renewal literally takes 30 seconds and the full installer can take up to 2 hours to complete. Please be sure you are clear on what you need when ordering software. If you're unsure, please feel free to contact us for assistance.
