FileShare - Current Fixes

These files can be used to resolve issues that are currently being experienced by some of our end users.  Please note that some of these files are duplicates of the ones that can be found on our Support Tools page

Ag Help Desk Assistant

Provides useful computer information (name, IP, MAC, etc...) as well as some additional support tools including remote support and share drive repair. Runs on client computer.

DataStore Cleanup

For some reason, a large number of our remaining Windows 7 computers are experiencing extreme slow downs and full hard drives.  In nearly all cases, this is caused by a bug that causes the DataStore database, inside the C:\windows\software distribution folder,  to become HUGE (over 200 GB).  This script shuts down the update service temporarily, removes the db (which is safe), and reinstates the service again.  The entire run takes approximately 5 - 7 minutes.

Office 2019 Pro Activation

On some NDSU computers, Office 2019 either was not activated or for some reason the activation appears to have been revoked.  So far it appears to be most common on the first computers it was installed on (the key we were given at that time is no longer considered in use).  This script will install the current key and re-run the activation.  Only for use on NDSU computers!

Off-Campus Cleanup Utility

This utility removes any remnants of GPOs as well as the SCCM agent.  It also adjusts privacy settings and assigns a lockscreen background.  It MUST be run on a local account after the computer has been removed from the domain to be effective.  Only for use on Ag off-campus computers.

KB4474419 - Windows 7 (SHA-2 Part 1)

KB4490628 - Windows 7 (SHA-2 Part 2)

Second of 2 files required to be installed in order for Windows 7 to continue receiving security updates after July 1 2019. This file helps install the ability for Windows 7 to use SHA-2 encryption.

Skype 2019 Fix

On some computers with Office 2019, Skype may refuse to run.  This script makes a registry change that should fix the issue, no restart should be necessary.

Support Status

Displays the remaining amount of support / time to replacement for the specified computer as well as the purchase date.

Windows 7 Security Scan

This program checks to see if Security Updates KB4474419 and KB4490628 have been installed. These files are required for Windows 7 to continue receiving security updates after July 2019.  If they are not, it will provide a link to where you can download the installers.
