Why did you choose NDSU? NDSU has a campus that instantly felt like home, as well as staff that I knew cared about my education and success in and out of the classroom.

Why did you select the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources? I have always had a passion for agriculture, and I wanted to combine that with my interest in business. When I learned about the strong Agriculture Economics program NDSU offered, I knew it was the perfect major for me.

Scholarships you have received and what it meant to you:

NDSU Provost Award, Randy and Becky Kraft Agricultural Economics Scholarship, Vernon C. Lee Memorial Scholarship, Blake Miller Memorial Scholarship, and the Lester Erickson and H.W. Herbison Memorial Scholarship.

As the first generation of my family to pursue a four-year degree, I value receiving a high- quality education. To lay out my goals and future plans for others to see, and for them to find my goals worth investing in is a humbling experience that I am grateful to have had. To know that there are others that believe in your goals and want to do their part for you to accomplish them is motivating and inspiring.

Clubs/organizations you’re involved in and why it’s beneficial: Sigma Alpha Professional Agriculture Sorority, Ag Ambassadors, Blue Key Honor Society, and yell leader for the NDSU Football team!

Being involved in a variety of organizations has helped me gain knowledge about other topics and pursue other interests. It truly makes my experience at NDSU feel well rounded. I also am able to meet people that I have a lot in common with as well as people with very different backgrounds from mine!

List any internships and a brief description of what you did: I had an internship with BASF this past summer as Sales and Marketing Intern. I was able to shadow a business representative in the Red River Valley, learn about the products and services provided by BASF, hone my professional development skills, and expand my knowledge of agriculture in the Red River Valley. In the summer of 2019, I interned with Northern Crops Institute on NDSU's campus as their Marketing and Communications Intern. I assisted with social media management, wrote press releases, blog posts, and redesigned the organizations website. I also have worked for NDSU Dining Services since the Fall of 2019 as their social media student employee. I create content, do food photography, schedule social media posts, and do giveaways on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Working in dining services not only has the perk of working on campus, but also comes with free meals!

What is your greatest memory at NDSU? There are honestly too many to count. Being in Frisco for the 2020 national championship football game was truly an amazing experience. The energy, Bison pride, and memories of being and traveling with friends was like no other experience I have had.

What are your future plans? I will graduate with a bachelor's degree in the Spring of 2022, and then plan to begin an MBA in the Agribusiness program at NDSU! From there, I am hoping to pursue a leadership role in agribusiness, take over management of my family's farm, and become involved in commodity and agriculture groups in North Dakota and on the national level as well.
