Why did you choose NDSU? I fell in love with North Dakota State University's beautiful campus and the people. They never tried to sell prospective students on the campus, they just demonstrated what they could offer. Also, the people around campus are always friendly and willing to help.

Why did you select the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources? I was interested in grain merchandising and Barry Hall downtown has several amenities that aren't found at many other universities. The Commodity Trading Lab at Barry Hall offers student simulations and reports that compare to the real world and allow students to learn with "hands on" experience.

Scholarships: I received one from High School Rodeo freshman year and another one this year for the AgCountry Fellowship program (I highly recommend looking into the fellowship program if you are interested in ag finance).

Clubs/organizations you’re involved in or have been involved in and why involvement in activities is beneficial: I have been involved in Rodeo Club, National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), Ag Business Club, Saddle and Sirloin, and Ag Ambassadors. I think clubs are the most important part of the college experience. They allow you to meet other students that will become some of your best friends. A lot of clubs offer events to network with professionals in the workforce and get your name out, and most clubs offer you an opportunity to get hands on experience utilizing tools learned in the classroom.

List any internships and a brief description of what you did: I have been doing an internship with Northern Crops Institute since May 2020. I work with their educational programs creating courses for further education in agriculture along with monthly webinars to keep professionals connected and updated.

What is your greatest memory at NDSU? This is a difficult question! I have enjoyed a lot of experiences through and because of NDSU. I would have to say traveling with the rodeo club is one of my greatest memories. Getting to travel the Midwest doing what I love and meeting new people that I would not have otherwise.

What are your future plans? Applying to graduate school for agribusiness and applied economics.
