Graduation Date: Spring 2021

Why did you choose NDSU? During high school, I spent a lot of time on NDSU's campus for extracurriculars such as 4H and FFA. Campus always felt like a home to me and I knew NDSU would offer me a quality education with a lot of opportunities.

Why did you select the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources?  I originally started as a communications major and missed having agriculture in my education. I decided to add agricultural economics my junior year and it was the best choice I made! The CAFSNR allows me to pursue my passion for agriculture everyday through my classes, clubs, and connections I make with my peers and professors.

Scholarships you have received and what it’s meant to you: NDSU Provost Award, ND Career and Technical Education, Michael and Susan Krueger, CHS, Peter and Kathleen Nygaard, Scholarship America Award, Farm Credit Services, FFA Association, James Ubbelohde, Rex W. Cox, and Alice Olsen-Flaten. Scholarships took away the financial stress that can come with college. I was able to focus more on my studies and truly enjoy my college experience.

Clubs/organizations you’re involved in and why involvement in activities is beneficial: Ag Ambassadors, Agriculture Collective, Phi Eta Sigma, Saddle and Sirloin, and Rising Scholars Peer Mentor. Being involved in a variety of organizations has provided me with a well-rounded education and experience at NDSU. Some of my greatest friendships have been built through the clubs I am in.

List any internships and a brief description of what you did:

1. Human Resources Intern at Obermiller Nelson Engineering - gained insight into all aspect of the HR profession including recruitment, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.

2. Communications P/T Student at John Deere Electronic Solutions - planned, designed, and executed employee communication materials including newsletters, digital signs, and numerous blogs.

3. Marketing/Communications Intern at the North Dakota Soybean Council - managed social media, photography, videography, and assisted with promotion/hosting of international trade teams.

4. Marketing Intern at Legend Seeds - social media management, blog writing, event planning, and strategic marketing planning for our biologicals through YieldMaster Solutions.

Internships have been one of the biggest highlights of my time in college. They provide great opportunities for networking and professional development.

What is your greatest memory at NDSU? I have too many memories to pick just one! I think the greatest memories sometime stem from the smaller moments. For me, this has been meeting new people through campus clubs, family dinners with my roommates, and cheering on the Bison at football games.

What are your future plans? I graduate in May and hope to start a marketing career in the agricultural industry. Eventually, I plan to go back to school to obtain my MBA or MS in international agriculture. I am excited to see what the future holds.
