NAMA are National Champions

National Champions!! The NDSU National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) just returned from winning the marketing plan competition at the National NAMA Conference in Kansas City. This is an incredibly intense competition including Big Ten schools (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State, Nebraska, Purdue, Illinois, Penn. State), SEC schools (Mississippi State, Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, Texas A&M), Big Twelve schools (Kansas State, Iowa State) and more. Again, this is a fiercely competitive competition. Three of last year’s six finalists did not survive the first round of competition and the semi-finals were even more intense. Just reaching the finals is a true honor and draws attention from professionals at the conference recruiting new talent.

Over the last four years, the NDSU team has finished in 6th place once and 3rd place twice but this group stepped it up another notch. In fact, our students gave such a dynamic presentation that two professionals stopped them as they walked out of the competition room to ask for resumes. It was pure joy to watch our students earn such a prestigious achievement after the hundreds and hundreds of hours of hard work! If you see any of them this week, please congratulate Thomas Konetschka, Dylan Kallman, Clara Konetschka, Nick Broberg, Emily Christofferson, John Chadwick, Ashley Bandemere, Katie Kokett, Jessica Refshaw, and Brita Swenson. They represented NDSU with complete professionalism and true excellence!
