Disciplinary Writing Consultant for Graduate Students

The College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources (CAFSNR) now has a dedicated disciplinary writing consultant (DWC): science writing instructor and Senior Lecturer in VMS, Jessica Ebert. The DWC is a pilot program of the Center for Writers in coordination with CAFSNR.

The goal of this pilot is to help CAFSNR graduate students and faculty become more successful scientific writers. To that end, Jess has begun offering one-on-one writing consultations to CAFSNR graduate students at the Center for Writers.

Jess provides students with unique writing support because she is both a professional writer and a scientist. Only students from CAFSNR may make appointments with her, and we strongly encourage faculty to direct students to work on their writing with Jess.

Jess will also support faculty, initially by providing workshops and, in a second phase of her pilot, grant-writing assistance. More information about this support will be made available throughout the year.
