Outstanding 4-H'ers Honored
Two 4-H'ers were honored as recipients of the Williams County Outstanding 4-H'er Award on November 1.
Mallory Nygard of Clever Clovers 4-H Club and Karissa Kjos of Sweet Clovers 4-H Club were named the 2009 Williams County Outstanding 4-H'ers.
Mallory began 4-H as a Cloverbud in 2000 and has grown a lot through her 4-H experiences. She is involved in her school, church, community, Youth Education on Stage, and her 4-H Club. Mallory's 4-H leader says "While she has exhibited many things in the county and state fairs, she made the most of her 4-H opportunities and participated in Project Expo, Consumer Choices, Fashion Revue and Communications Arts every year of her career. Malloy has been a great role model for the younger members of the club". Mallory is the daughter of Todd and Laura Nygard of Williston.
Karissa has been a 4-H member for eight years and is currently the president of Sweet Clovers where she runs a very efficient meeting and is teaching the Robert's Rules of Order to the other club members. Karissa is also the WHS student council president and is very active in school, community and her church. Karissa's 4-H leader says "Karissa has been a joy to have in 4-H since the first day she joined. She has tried every project with determination and enthusiasm. The best thing about Karissa winning this award is that she is a true ambassador for 4-H". Karissa is the daughter of Ken and Darci Kjos of Williston.
