John & Kathy Hovde are the Williams County NDSU Harvest Bowl Honorees.

NDSU Harvest Bowl Honorees from Williams County are John and Kathy Hovde. They have a quarter horse and cow-calf operation on their ranch near Epping. By attending NDSU Extension seminars and utilizing USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service programs, John has developed an extensive pasture rotation system. They received a Soil Conservation Award. John is an adjunct professor at NDSU where he teaches horsemanship classes. He conducts horsemanship clinics across the Midwest and freely gives his time each year teaching area 4-H members. John was recently inducted into the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame and was named N.D. Horse Council Person of the Year. John is active in several horse associations and is a township chairman. Kathy teaches music at Williston Public School and gives private piano lessons. John and Kathy have two children.
