Friend of 4-H Honored
The "Friend of 4-H Award" began in 1981 and is selected each year from nominations sent in from the 4-H Clubs throughout Williams County.
Friend of 4-H Award Recipient for 2009 is John Hovde.
John Hovde was honored with this award during the 4-H Awards Night on November 1.
John is a adjunct professor at NDSU where he teaches horsemanship classes. He also conducts horsemanship clinics across the Midwest. For many years John has given generously of his time and talent as a horseman by offering a free six-week horsemanship clinic to Williams County 4-H'ers each spring. The youth, as well as the parents watching, are taught valuable lessons from basic ground-work horsemanship skills on up to actual riding skills, with the ultimate goal of being ready to participate in the 4-H horse show during the UMV Fair. John has also volunteered many hours of his time during the 4-H horse shows over the years.
Congratulations to John and thanks for all your dedication to 4-H.
