Tax Program for Farmers Scheduled
Program offered to agricultural producers and tax preparers.
A Tax Management for Ag Producers program will be offered to agricultural and tax preparers from 9 a.m. to 12 noon CST on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, via interactive video at the North Central Research Extension Center in Minot. Experts will provide Federal and State income tax updates. Sessions on depreciation rules and taxation of federal farm benefits will be held. Highlights of the 2009 Stimulus Package including bonus and Sec. 179 deductions, and energy credits will be presented. Provisions of the National Disaster Relief Act which offeres federal tax relief for Presidentially declared disasters for individual and business will be presened.
The ND Tax Update will highlight some of the more important bills that affect the 2009 income tax return. Lastly, an update on Federal estate and gift taxes will be presented.
The program, sponsored by the NDSU Extension Service and the Internal Revenue Service, will feature presentations by Ann Makres, IRS; Steve Eckroth, Eide Bailly; Brenda Laub, CPA, Valley City; Steve Troyer, Eide Bailly, Fargo; Terry Knoepfle, NDSU; and Joseph Becker, Office of the State Tax Commissioner, Bismarck.
