4H and Youth Development

Every great organization needs a mission and this is ours: to create supportive learning environments for youth and adults to reach their fullest potential as capable, compentent and caring citizens.

So, What Is 4-H?

4-H is the largest youth organization in the United States and North Dakota's vision is to become the state's leader in helping youth become positive, productive citizens and catalysts for effective change to meet the need of
a diverse and changing society.

February 6 - Minot Rotary Crop & Livestock Judging Contest
                    State Fair Center, Registration 8-8:30 a.m.
March 1 - 4-H Foundation Scholarship Applications due in State Office
                4-H Scholarship Applications due in State Office

March 2-7 - Winter Show in Valley City

March 15 - Mid-year Reports Due in Extension Office
                  County 4-H Scholarship Applications due in Extension Office

April 12 - 4-H Council Meeting, Ex-Servicemen's Room, Ward County Courthouse, 7 p.m.

May 1 - Beef Breeding animals, dairy, swine, sheep and goats must be owned/managed by 4-Her
             Small pets must be owned and managed by 4-Her

June 1 - Nat'l 4-H Conference/Congress/National Dairy Conference and Awards Applications due

June 21-23 - North Dakota Extension Youth Conference, NDSU

June 28-July 1 - Ward County Achievement Days, ND State Fair Center

July 16 - District Consumer Choices Contest, North Central Research Extension Center

July 18-26 - ND State Fair, State Horse Judging, Showcase, and Consumer Choices events
