Application Information and Procedures
What are the minimum requirements for Veterinary Technology Program Applicants?
You must have successfully completed at least 12 credits of classes at NDSU and completed VETS 115, Medical Terminology and VETS 125, Animal Restraint with grades of C or better.
What is the application deadline?
April 1. It is your responsibility to make sure all material is submitted by this date.
How many students will be admitted into the Veterinary Technology Program each year?
A maximum of 28 qualified students will be admitted.
On what basis will applications be evaluated?
Applications for admission to the Veterinary Technology Program at North Dakota State University will be evaluated on a 100-point scale according to four criteria: academic performance, experience with the veterinary profession, a reference from a veterinary technician or veterinarian, and two general references. Maximum possible points in each category are:

You can find the materials for application below. If for some reason you cannot print the application forms below you can obtain an application packet from the secretaries in room 102 Hultz Hall.
Each application for the Veterinary Technology Program should contain:
- Supplemental Application Form - printable form below
- 1 Veterinary Reference Form - printable form below
- 2 General Reference Forms - printable form below
- Transcript - which you request from the Registrar's Office
- Goal Statement
- Written Verification of hours spent in a veterinary clinic signed by a veterinary technician or veterinarian.

When will I know if I've been accepted in the Veterinary Technology program?
Preliminary evaluations will be completed in early to mid-April. At that time applicants will be informed of their preliminary ranking. Final evaluations will be complete as soon as spring semester grades are recieved -- generally in late May or early June.
