Part I. Entering information into the Design screen

There are some things that you will need to know before using this program.

A. State This program was designed using those tree and shrub species which are approved for conservation plantings by the state Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices in Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota. Therefore, the choice of tree and shrub species is slightly limited. If you are from a different state, or your desired species does not appear in the species list, choose another species with similar characteristics such as form and growth rate.

The first item to be entered in the Virtual Windbreak design screen is the state in which the user is located (or the closest to what is listed).
