 ACRE Videos

There are three ACRE videos on the NDSU Farm Management website. "Should I Enroll in ACRE" is a 30-minute video that Andy Swenson, NDSU Farm Management Specialist, narrates. If you have not made your decision on ACRE, you need to watch this video. Swenson talks about the potential ACRE payments because of the high benchmark of 2007 and 2008. The website can be found by searching: NDSU Farm Management or going to http://www.ag.ndsu.nodak.edu/aginfo/farmmgmt/farmmgmt.htm

Weather Data

During the last 90 days, NDAWN site near Minot is 1.45 inches below in rainfall. During the same time frame, the average temperature was 3 degrees below normal. Considering a planting date of May 10, the area is 243 growing degrees behind normal. This area normally accumulates 37 growing degree days per day this time of the year. The average accumulation of September 1 is 31 GDD per day. Once the season gets behind in growing degree days, it is difficult to catch up. If the area is going to remain below normal in rainfall, the cool temperatures for the cool season crops are a great benefit as long as the frost stays away in September. There are NDAWN sites near Berthold, Mohall, Bowbells, Plaza, Bottineau and Karlsruhe.
