Last night, the 2009 National eXtension Conference in St. Louis got underway. We started with a welcome reception that featured displays from 23 of the 46 eXtension Communities of Practice (CoPs), including Map@Syst with NDSU's John Nowatzki and the newest CoP, Wildfire Information Network. The reception was a great opportunity to learn more about the CoPs and to connect with colleagues from across the country.
Today, we'll be hearing from Bob Johansen, author of Leaders Make the Future: Ten New Leadership Skills for an Uncertain World. After reading his book, I'm really looking forward to his presentation.
I'll be participating in the eXtension Implementation at the State and Local Level breakout sessions this afternoon and in an Institutional Team Roundtable this evening.

A number of today's sessions will be webcast, thanks to the hard work of Floyd Davenport and his team from Iowa State. For more information on the webcasts, go to http://about.extension.org/2009/10/19/watch-the-2009-national-extension-conference-online/
